| | Guest | Princess - Personal Choice Dining Options In 2005 on Caribbean Princess we were able to choose Personal Choice
dining and then make a reservation for the same time and the same table
for the remainder of the week. This allowed us to eat earlier than
traditional 2nd seating and still have the same wait staff through the
week. I hear that this option of keeping the same table each night
using Personal Choice no longer exists and that you now have to take
whatever table is avaialble at your requested time.... ?

| | Guest | Princess - Personal Choice Dining Options When we were on the Crown we didn't reserve a PC time but did go at
about the same time each night, give or take 10 minutes, requesting the
same table and server the first 2 nights. after that it was automatic.
We'd show up and they'd tell us to go right to that table, that they
kept it open for us.

I like the personal choice option, as depending on shore excursions and
other factors we do not always end up eating at the same time every
day. This would mean that early seating would not work on some days and
that later seating would also not work on other days. Also there are
times when we like to eat between the early and late seating, so the
personal choice option works well for us.

Princess gives you a choice of Traditional Dining or Personal Choice
Dining. With traditional you get either early or late and you have the
same wait staff and table every night.

I can't imagine why since you can tailor pc dining to reserve a specific
table for the whole cruise at a specific time with chosen people with a
waiter who is efficient. It lets you sample a few waiters & then make a
selection rather than be stuck with someone who is just learning.

On our last three Princess cruises we reserved the same waiter, table & time
in the pc dining room. To us it's the same as traditional dining except you
can sample the waiters first & can select you dining companions. I almost
forgot- on the pc dining we didn't get the baked Alaska as they did in the
main dining room and also the interruptions for dining photo's. I wonder if
we missed anything else?

From what I have heard and read here, it isn't always possible to
reserve the waiter/table/set time that you want. It seems to vary from
ship to ship or something, maybe the mood of the day.lol

Last year on the Sun Princess it was possible to get the same table & same
time but on the Star Princess they would only seat us at the same time not
guaranteeing the same table. It didn't present any problems on the Island
Princess either. | |
