Default By the way...passport update from Norwegian

In case anyone else was cruising the beginning of the year , I spoke to
someone at Norwegian today who informed me the passport requirement for
Caribbean cruises has been dropped due to the change in the government time
frame for implementing it .As of yesterday , passports are now recommended ,
but not required . I still hadn't applied for mine and was going to pay more
to expedite it ... now I'm not going to worry about getting it in time or
not.

I talked to a supervisor about this , and I am satisfied that the
information is accurate , but please don't take my word it , call Norwegian
yourself before you cancel any plans of getting a passport for your cruise !

Well, technically correct: For some time period, no passport will be
needed for a cruise that does not require any associated air
transportation out of or into USA,

However, if a Caribbean cruise departs from or returns from a non-USA
port, you probably need a passport.

Also, consider what would happen if you miss the ship at one port, have
a medical emergency, etc. and, for example, need to fly to a foreign
port to meet the vessel or return directly to the USA from a foreign
port. In this case, you probably need a passport.

Best advice, get a passport now [it will be valid for ten years].
