Duh. Yes I know that. MY Point was that Carnival knew for weeks
about the problem and should have given pax the option to cancel. They
knew full well that the ship would not be functionaly able to make the
scheduled ports.
It goes toward Corporate Goodwill.

I agree with you. There is a difference between cancelling a port for
safety sake because of weather conditions and cancelling because of a
problem with the ship, especially if the problem is known beforehand by
the cruise line.
