taped bird calls and chirps?!? How cheesy.
I'd rather have silence than fake birds...

No Goomba, I didn't find it cheesy. In fact I recall smiling when I
heard the birds and I was alone at the time. I thought it was a nice
    touch.

I too was on board this ship in the beginning, Have a question for you

Did you find that the cwentral park rooms were noisy? When we were on
there was alot of noise that went on late at night- music playing....
Maybe they corrected it. Was wondering from someone that just got off
your thoughts. This ship is a beauty BUT it is Big and not real good
for older folks. You can get lost! LOL

its not cheesy at all its all about putting you with the right
ambiance. When we were on ther was taped music like Frank Sinatra
    playing

As I mentioned Becca, I'm not a cruising person.
I've only been on two other cruises and that was in the 70's and 80's.

Sue, I didn't find Central Park at all noisy at night so that has
changed since you were on it. The noise and action ie. bands, singers,
dancers, conga lines were on the Prominade deck at night. We watched it
all live on our room TV as they videotaped it and even reran it later.
It only took a couple of days to find our way around the ship. Those
wall maps were great. They worked like an ATM machine. Just tap on the
screen and it shows you where you are and how to get to where ever you
want to go. Elevators are plentiful at both ends of the ship.
My companion went to bed at ten so I would go to the library and read
till midnight. I only sleep 5 or 6 hrs. a night. I was up at 5 and out
on the balcony watching the cleaning people at work. They did a
wonderful job of keeping the ship clean with the exception of that soot
all over on the boardwalk. We suspected it come from the stacks when
they blew the horns when leaving port.

They also use the taped birds on the Jewel of the Seas. It was cheesy
    there too.

Some people like fake flowers too... doesn't make 'em in good taste
    though, eh?
I found the fake bird noises annoying, repetitive, predictable and
cheapening to the relaxing experience. Silence would have been
    preferable to me.

Goomba, there were fake flowers on each table in the Opus dining rooms
    on the Oasis.
Bet that would have ruined your whole trip.

Susie, I looked at one of the cabins that was right above the Carousel,
when I closed the balcony door, I could not hear any noise. Maybe if I
was trying to sleep, I would have noticed.
