Default Aruba beaches

Hi Karen, You didn't mention how long you would be in Aruba. If you
have a full day here is what I would suggest. Rent a Jeep for the day
(about $70) There are many many out of the way beaches that are
beautiful and not crowded. There are all kinds of Jeep rentals just
outside the ship terminal. The Jeep office we went to gave us a map and
marked all the beaches for us. It is almost impossible to get lost in
Aruba. We did the entire island and stopped at 5 or 6 beaches and did
snorkeling at them all in about 5 or 6 hours. That included driving
the 20 miles (or so) to Baby Beach (furthest point on the island).
Then we returned the Jeep and the rental office wanted to know what we
thought of the beaches. It was a great day and a great way to really
see the island on your own time and pace. The beaches you mention are
in the hotel zone. They are all very nice. Just wanted to give you
another option that was alot of fun for us. We ended the day with some
drinks in town and had a great time.

Karen, We had the exact same time in Aruba as you will when we sailed
Briliance of The Seas. We figured the jeep rental and gas for the day
was cheeper than two of the ships beach days tours with transportation
(that only lasted a few hours) and we saw the entire island long before
dark. The ship also offers a jeep tour but its double the price of
doing it yourself. You will have fun and I think its great to explore
on your own.

For the cost of a taxi from the ships terminal to Baby Beach it will
cover the cost of the jeep for the day.

Baby Beach was beautiful except for one thing...That refinery. Anyone
who has every been there knows what I mean. Its a postcard moment until
you look at that ugly thing. We did laugh about it alot.

Is there any smell in the air from the refinery? Either at Baby Beach
or elsewhere in Aruba.

Hi Sue, I gues it depends on which way the winds blow....but no there
was no smell at all. Just a semi-beautiful beach with an ugly refinery
in the distance. But decent snorkeling.

moment until

That reminds me about what I did not like about Baby Beach.

You can't smell it elsewhere in Aruba.

I can live with "ugly", but I can't deal with the fumes. Hope there
aren't any fumes when we are in Aruba.
