Default Going to Brazil

Greg,

I'm green with envy. As a single man, I used to live in Rio. Now that
I'm married, I don't know that I'd have the nerve to go back <wink
wink>.

Do you perchance have a nextel cell phone? If you do, then we can
"Direct Commuicate" i.e. "chirp" i.e. "walkie-talkie" for free while
you're there. It could be like having your own interpreter in your
pocket!

I am a translator / interpreter of Spanish English. I also translate
Portuguese to English, for a living. But my spoken Portuguese has
gotten rusty over the many years of non-use.

Nevertheless, it would be a hoot to "chirp" with you from Texas while
you're there, if by some stroke of fate you have nextel.

In any event, have a wunnerful time. But LEAVE YOUR ROLEX, DIAMOND
RINGS, LAPTOP COMPUTER etc. at home. If you get robbed, cough up
everything. There is a very very high armed robbery rate in Brazil.

The good news is, they're not particularly spiteful. They just want
your stuff or your life. Even with today's inflation, that's still a
heck of a trade.

Excellent advice.

Brazilians call themselves "a nation of crabs". Social life in Rio
revolves around the beach. But you'll just have to try to ignore those
friendly, gorgeous girls in their er.. bathing suits. There's a
national shortage of cloth in Brazil.

Brazil rocks!
