Default What is the best calling card from Puerto Vallarta to the US?

We will be in Puerta Vallarta for a couple of weeks in late October.
Due to some business deals in the works both my wife and I will need
to call back to Colorado quite a bit. I saw an MCI international phone
card at Costco for $30 which includes Mexico to USA for 27
cents/minute. I'm fine with that but just curious what others think
and recommend.

Thanks.

Most folks use the Ladatel cards readily available all over Mexico,
including just about any pharmacy. You slide them in the card reader slot on
most pay phones. The price is around 10 cents a minute.

To use ladatel card (public prepaid phones), yes the Local service is 1
peso ($0.10 us) a minute, but for long distance (to the US) is 5 pesos
(~0.50) a minute, i am not sure if this price is nationwide or just in
the fontier area, so it could be more, but you can make a collect call
to the US by dialing 090 for free in any public phone, without a card.

So far your costco card seems a beter deal, also be aware of local
hotel charges, even for 800 numbers.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. It is starting to look like the Costco card is
the way to go.

I would suggest to use Skype. This is calling by computer of the internet to landlines. Cost are around 2 cents or less a minute. You can find some info on their website.

I am not allowed to parse email address but skype is a com domain.
