Default Furnishing home in Mexico

A friend of mine recently purchased a home in the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo area.
He needs to furnish it and I understand it is very expensive to import
furniture and was hoping someone could provide some good sources in Mexico to
buy furnature.
I really appreciate any help you could provide.
Thank you!

Tell your friend to go to a local store. Mexicans use furniture too, and
the things they make there are rather nice.

If he drives up through Uruapan on Highway 37 up near the national park
he'll find a town where they make nothing but furniture. It's Mexican
style stuff but, hey, this is Mexico. On the same road there's another
town where they make nothing but guitars.
