Default Taxi from EZE airport Buenos Aires to La Recoleta district hotel

We are scheduled to be picked up by a transfer service at the airport to our
hotel but just in case we want to be prepared to know the best way to get to
our hotel from EZE airport on Monday (6/12) morning. What should we
expect to pay and who or what do you recommmend?
Thanks for your advice.

Hey Carol -

First- Right now there is a strike going on at Ezeiza...I'm really not
sure of the particulars, or how delayed things are, but you might want
to check that out to know what to expect before you get here.

As for your actual question, I just took a taxi from the
airport...cost me $65 pesos, or about $20. There are a bunch of taxi
drivers milling around right outside international
arrivals...alternately, there are companies offering remis service
(private taxis) from the airport, and they'll run you a marginal amount
more...I went with Manuel Tienda Leon last December, at it was $76.
They'll all quote you prices in dollars or pesos, whichever you like,
but the suggestion to get some pesos out of the ATM while you're at the
airport is a good one...don't bother exchanging dollars or euros or
whatever at the airport, the rate .

Enjoy your trip! The weather, right now, is marvelous!

Shaun

I have taken the local bus, which is extremely inexpensive (probably less
than $1 U.S.), but if you don't know its route and don't speak Spanish well
enough to ask questions of the driver, I wouldn't recommend it. You also
need to use exact change, which you are unlikely to have handy upon arrival.

Others have recommended taxis or remises. I have used the remises of Manuel
Tienda Leon, whose desk you will see upon exiting customs/immigration, as
well as their minivans. Both are reliable ways of getting into the city; the
remis, although more expensive, will take you directly to your hotel.
