Perů - 10 Days Cusco&jungle I would put at least 3 days in Cuzco, if not more. I would set aside at
least half a day at Pisaq. Ollantaytambo is a pretty short visit. There's
not much in Aguas Calientes but it's worth spending the night there so you
can get to Machu Picchu right in the early morning. By noon, it's crowded.
When I was in the Amazon along Tambopata, I stayed at Posadas Amazonas. You
are definately in the jungle. The rooms have a half wall exposed to the
jungle and you sleep under mosquito netting. The lodge does have a bar. It
gets very humid. The lanterns (kerosene?) are put out at night. So take a
flashlight/torch. What is very rewarding is that when you go to sleep at
night, because your room is sort of outside, you can listen to all the night
sounds of the jungle as you drift off to sleep. A few other people I was
with found this disconcerting, but I loved it.
