Further,

You seem to have been irritated that there wasn't enough English
spoken. Did you consider learning any Spanish before you left? It
*is* the language in Mexico, after all. I realize that most people go
expecting to be catered to in English at resorts, but to be annoyed
when the English wasn't up to your standards is ridiculous.

Sorry you had a lousy time. Maybe just stick to the states?

Shaun

No I am just used to Cozumel, there they have requirements at the
resorts and that is that they know how to speak English. It's just a
shame that they concentrate their English speaking people on things
outside the resort and not on the people there to relax. I don't have
much time left on this earth so I had to go somewhere. Thanks for the
advise on sticking to the United States, it sounds like you have a
great idea, buttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt nope you haven't been
anywhere until you have been to Cozumel. Heck I don't know have you
ever been to Cozumel?

Cozumel...marginally better than Cancun, AKA Mexico Disneyland. Where
everything is sanitized, americanized, and shrink-wrapped so that
americans don't have to see anything that might be "uncomfortable" to
them, like other cultures or ways of life.
I love PV. I've spent 14 weeks there in the past 6 years. I go to
experience another way of life, even if it IS radically different than
my USA-ian life. I realize that other people have different standards
than us, and that I'm visiting a technologically disadvantaged place,
but I see happy people who, in their opinions, have good lives.
Funny, THEY don't seem to mind all the horrible americans who come and
mess up their ways of life with their stupid demands for "american
beer" and "american food".

I agree..perhaps you should stay in the US...

Jeanne
who has ridden horses 3 days up into the mountains near PV..lack of a
toilet seat would NOT bother me. There weren't even toilets for
miles and miles...
