Rainfall in Antigua, Guatemala, in September?

Hello,

My wife and I are planning to visit Antigua soon, but we were wondering
about rain in September. Does it rain all day or is this more of the
off and on rain mostly in the afternoon?

Would you recommend putting off the trip until mid-October or so?

September is the month of most rain. At times it rains very hard for an hour
or two and at times light rain all day and night. Oct. is a better time to
go for the weather. Dan

In my 12 years here in Guatemala the rainfall this year has been a real
nightmare, I have never seen such rainfall. Right now it has died down
a bit but the rain resumes once again in September, personally I would
put it off till mid-October. Antigua has the best climate IMHO when the
rain passes.
