Default Copper Canyon Train trip

Is there a "best" time of the year to do the Copper Canyon Train trip? If
so, when? Thanks

I would think September or October would be nice. We went last year for
the last 2 wks of November and had two days with heavy showers.
Fortunately, one of those days we were on the train, and the rain made for
spectacular falls where there aren't always falls at all. It was cold (icy
underfoot) when we got to Divisadaro, but the rest of the trip was fine,
weather-wise. Spend at least a day in Batopilas or Urique on the canyon
floor. Both are wonderful towns, and the drive down to either will give you
stunning views.

I have heard that it is good to avoid the rainy season, more likely to
have delays due to rockslide. I believe that the rainy season is
usually regarded as June to September, with May and October kind of the
shoulder season.

However, the dry season generally has shorter days, so more likely to be
traveling in the dark on some of the pretty sections. Remember that the
elevation is high enough to be cold, especially in the winter.
