Default Insect repellent: DEET-based or Mosi-guard?

As an alternative to the well known DEET-based insect repellents
(Relec and similars), Mosi-guard is shown itself as a "natural"
repellent, derived from the eucaliptus.

Has anybody tested it with the South American mosquitoes? Does it work
as well at least as Relec?.

Any shared info should be appreciated.

Regards,

VO

I don't know what it was called or what the active ingredient was, but
when I was in Peru,I bought a locally made repellent that worked
amazingly well. I got bitten by the little flying critters only in the
triangular place on the back elbow part of one arm where I missed
putting the rpeleant. These critters are nasty and I come from one of
the mosquito capital areas of the world. And this repellant smelled nice
too.
i wish I knew what it was.

Ready for this.....Go to a health food store. Buy garlic tablets..250 mil.
Start taking 4-5 days before venturing into the jungle and you'll be
suprised. Bugs will land but they won't bite or sting. Army secret....it
has to do with the smell of garlic in the pores.Nobody else will notice
and you won't smell like garlic to others...just insects..

DO NOT USE SKIN SO SOFT..it works in the states but down there it's an
attractant!!!
