Default beaches in Cancun

I have been told that the nice beaches in Cancun
are primarily for visual enjoyment as there is a
strong undertoe and not many venture out too far. Is
that true?

Also, are there any nudist beaches in or around
Cancun? Thanks

re the undertow: In my experience, March of this year, yes.

re the nudist beaches: wasn't looking.

Yes.

Public nudity is illegal in this conservative Catholic country.

Some of Cancun's beaches are exposed to the open sea, making some
of the waves undercurrents particularly strong. Cancun's hotels and
beaches run a consistent flag colour system to advise tourists of sea
conditions. Watch the flags, and follow the rules and you'll be fine:

White - Excellent Sea Conditions - go and have fun!

Green - Normal Sea Conditions - safe to swim!

Yellow - Changeable sea conditions - be careful and alert!

Black or Red - Unsafe / Danger - head for the pool!

There are, but you have to search for them once you get there.
Ask the right questions, and you'll find them.

Pick your hotel carefully. Stay at a hotel facing Isle Murejes and you won't
have any problem. These beaches are safe and good for snorkling. The oceanside
beaches can be very dangerous.
