Lima - 4 days in Oct - Suggestions?

Hi all,
Reading thru a Fodor's travel book about Lima. Will plan on the museums.
Have about 3-4 days. I might try Cusco/Machu Piccu but it'll be rushed.
Any other suggestions for:
1. Sites must see in city -

2. Day trips from Lima -

3. Hotels (budget only) -

4. Eating places -

5. Transportation tips -

6. Rental car? -

In lima the most importnat thing to see is the Museum de Oro

then the centre with its churches
( the church with the body of the conqueror of peru is there)
churches normally cost a nominal token
a curiosity is the church of Santa Rosa from Lima..
beware of pickpockets and small criminaly in Lima centre.
there are lots of palces to eat at reasonable prices.
taxi are also reasonable
it will be difficult to hire a car..
as cars are very expensive there and roads in very bad conditions.
but with 4 days.. you will not see much
unless you move by plane.
try Nazca and Ica
it will be a full day as it is 400 kms away form Lima
