Default fo;reign residence, travel, etc., fo;r americans but especially in lat. am.

ive had a great deal of experience with trying to live in mexico w/o
actually buying a home or even taking a long-term rental (i want to be
free to travel around) and the whole process of form-filling. telling
half or whole lies to get past a b.s. snarl or whatever has left me
cold. finally i was reduced to getting a tourist visa every six mos
and leaving the country at the end of it and wasting a lot of money,
naturally on transportation, etc. i dont know why they cant just turn
ppl loose if they promise not to work and have money to support
themselves.

is there any country in lat.am. or elsewhere that actually makes it
EASY to enter their country for a good while to spend dollars and not
be held up by lawyers and beauracracy and two-bit uniformed border
officials?

mexico scares me more the more i learn about it.

It would make it significantly easier to answer your question if you
provided the following information: your country (or countries) of
citizenship, the reason you don't need to work (i.e. do you have some kind
of pension income, interest income, rental income, etc.), if you do have a
monthly income, the range of income can be determinative as to which
countries will allow you in with minimal hassle, so that would help also.
If you can provide that info, I will try to help you.
