Default Which Island and where to stay?

I am just starting to research for our 15th Anniversary vacation in early
November for about 10 days and could use some suggestions please.
We love Mexico and Costa Rica but want to branch out.
We are not divers or party animals, well, I used to be...

Looking for...

Beautiful, quiet beach with easy swimming
A quaint hotel or bungalow, not over $150. a night
No all inclusives or high-rises...in sight anyway
Not crowded or too touristy but with local color and culture
A few restaurants, eateries, within walking distance
Maybe a little night life on the low-key side. But don't need it.

We loved a stop in Tortola on a cruise a few years ago. So maybe somewhere
like that?
BTW, did not like cruising. Too structured for us. Didn't like having to
watch the clock once we got to an island.

Thanks for your time

I'd recommend St Johns ,very natural & beautiful. We stayed in eco tents
which are solar powered. They have water, electricity etc.In Coral Bay on
the cliffs. They have tents in Maho Bay ,not as nice. These really are a
great place to stay, you're not roughing it at all.You have to rent a
jeep so you can visit all the diff beaches. We went in July & it was
very quiet except for the 4th

There are several places named St. Johns - one of them is the capitol
of Antigua. But since you mention Maho and Coral Bay, I guess you are
talking about St. John in the USVI. The Eco Tents would be about
$95/night.

You can also find places to stay in that price range in Barbados and
Belize.
