Fiji small island personal feel vacation in the Caribbean?

My wife and I had our honeymoon on Castaway Island Fiji and we really
enjoyed it. We would love to go back but we now live in the southeast
United States and have children that we need to purchase airline
tickets for. To get from here to Fiji per person is around $1500. Are
there any small (less than 100 bures / cottages) resorts in the
Caribbean? I have been reading some reviews of Caribbean resorts, but
most of them are large hotel style and many got bad reviews when it
comes to kids. We are looking for more of the personal feel that we
got in Fiji?

We would like some organized activities. Fiji impressed us in how well
they seemed to take care of kids, the cultural exotic aspect. We only
have one kid that we would take. For the most part we hang out on the
beach and spend the evenings dancing and lounging.

Hi Rob,

That cultural attachment/affection toward kids is saturated throughout the
Caribbean. You'd find it almost anywhere you went except for the major
tourism islands which you aren't interested in anyway. I have yet to hear
of a single child who was bored there, excepting those who complained but
never went.

That said, you might consider these suggestions:

* Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
* Anguilla BWI
* Nevis BWI
Those locales spring to mind. Keep those questions coming, though.
