Recommendations For Travel To Puerto Rico

I'm in essentially the "same boat" as you, but I want to get to Culebra --

Tough to "correctly" respond to your question on Airfare -- I booked mine
back in November -- the cost from EWR was $321 each -- little more than I
wanted to pay, but it takes me there non-stop at the exact times and days
that best work for me --- so despite the fact that I may see somewhat
cheaper fares before the travel date, it is equally likely that the rates
for my ideal flight could go up significantly -- best advice, if you have
specific times that you want to depart & return is to find a fare that you
can "live with" and lock it up. However, if you're really flexible on the
timing of your flights and aren't insistent on non-stops, you might want to
give Priceline a try -- bid and see what happens -- good luck --

As far as a cheaper flight, check with your airline about 2 weeks prior to
departure. If there are any specials, you may be able to get the lower
fare without penalties and with your same itinerary. I've been able to do
this a couple of times on US coast-to-coast, nonstop and one stop flights
on major and discount airlines. Savings wasn't much -- $25 to $50 -- but
$50 is $50.
