Best water shoes for white sand beaches?

Well I already have some Tevas

But the last time I was on beach with them that velcro
picked up a ton of sand

That's why I was thinking the Chaco sandals might be
better than the Tevas since the Chaco have no velcro at
all... an only one strap that holds the entire sandal
on your foot

But I want some kind of shoe to wear IN the water as
well... where there might be rough coral. My feet are
thin skinned. Ha!

And a typical canvas shoe doesn't work either cause it
traps that sand right next to the foot.... where it
proceeds to act like sand paper and sand away the skin
whenever you walk.
