It depends on what you define as more attractive. In general, most
people seem to like pristine white sand and aren't much for brown sand.
If that is the case with you as well, then you will prefer locations on
the Carribean Sea rather than on the Atlantic. I also prefer the white
sand simply because I can't find white sand anywhere near where I live,
whereas I can find some nice brown sand at the local lake (although the
water at the lake doesn't compare to the ocean!).

The quality of the beach will also depend on how the staff at the hotel
care for it. A beach that isn't raked and maintained, will often be full
of seaweed and other debris washed up from the ocean.

I found the water in the Jamaica (Caribbean Sea) to be much warmer than
the Puerto Plata (Atlantic Ocean), but this may not always be the case
and it could be simply due to the time of year we went.

As always, my answer is: Iberostar Bavaro. Iberostar Punta Cana, Iberostar
Bavaro - it's the same complex. Hacienda Dominicus is the newest (2001).
