Vacation Costs Actually, Tobago has a quite good standard of living. The children
look healthy and happy; houses, while not fancy, are handsome. I
believe there's universal healthcare. Because Trinidad and Tobago has
revenue from oil, there seem to be a number of government social
programs.. Literacy levels are high.

Tobago is hard to get to from the U.S., but, in the past several years,
it's begun to receive planeloads full of people from England (mainly)
on all-inclusive charter packages. Until recently, it also was one of
a few Caribbean islands to require U.S. visitors to have passports,
which may have discouraged some U.S. travelers. |
