already so small and jammed with those items, who needs any more..
also, different road conditions, licenses etc. doesn't make since. and
the shipping services are fairly ok, so most of the things brought in are
already done by that service..

Some would go, some would come. Total would end up the same.
And not all islands are as packed as Barbados either, some of the larger
islands like
Trinidad, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Cuba and so on could probably have a dozen
ferries like those.
I mean, when in Norway there are dozens of superferries (fast cats, and big
car ferries) with a population of 4,5 millions, spread out over a country
that is 2.000 kilometer long... what could the potential be for those
islands? Must be huge-huge-huge, if people can afford to use them.
