Default Barbados - The Crane - opinions

I lived at Crane Beach many years ago.

The beach is rough and more for getting wet than wading or swimming.

I assume Sam Lord's Castle is still nearby, but everything else is 30 to
40 minutes away.

If seclusion is what you want, then it may meet your needs.

Sam Lords Castele is bankrupt, and all the nice antiques they had in the
main buling went on an auction...
When it comes to Crane, I must admit that I have not been there since they
rebuilt it.
But have talked to many people that has been there. They all like the hotel.
But be aware that it is pretty fra from everything, and that a rental car
could be handy to have for some of the days you are there.
I would not doubt going there myself.

We've never stayed at The Crane, so I can't comment on the range of
their menu. That said, my husband and I love their flying fish sandwich
so much we've arranged a day trip touring to be certain we were at The
Crane at lunch.

One word of caution: If you've ever read about chili peppers, you know
that some peppers have immediate and intense heat while others have a
lingering burn. I don't recall reading about chili peppers that have
both kinds of heat. Until Crane's hot sauce!!! Use that condiment with
extreme caution.

My wife and I purchased a timeshare there last year. So far we have only
been there when having this look around, but needless to say it impressed us
enough to buy.
The rooms are really something else. Top quality decor throughout and
spacious and utility filled.
We ate there twice. Once on a father's day lunch which was very nice if
slightly pricey. And once we had an evening meal from the Thai menu. It was
superb and very reasonablt priced. We'll be glad to eat here again.
The beach, the views and the general ambience of the hotel is magnificent.
Certainly perfect for a relaxing time. Not so good for nightlife, but here's
a tip. Book some trips that involve transportation to and from the
destination. Harbour Lights Beach Party, Plantation etc. This way you still
enjoy the nightlife and don't have to pay a fortune in tax fares.

Enjoy.
