Default Tobago and Grenada advice

We are planning to travel next month to Tobaga and make a side trip to
Grenada. Will we have any problems finding last minute accommodation in
Grenada after the hurricane damage. At the moment my cheapest air option
from the UK to Tobago seems to be Golden Caribbean or does someone know
better?

You should have no problem getting accommodation on Grenada. Majority of
hotels now up and running without a problem. Most of infrastructure OK
post Ivan. Go and see - it's a beautiful island.

I think Golden Caribbean and Excel Air are probably the most reasonable
ex UK.

For what it's worth Tobago has had terrible weather recently - in common
with much of the Caribbean.

On that subject I have just returned from a 3 week business trip Mo Bay,
San Juan, BVI, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados and Tobago.
Weather was pretty unseasonal everywhere. There seemed a permanent cold
front coming don from the NE. While it wasn't cold it was pretty windy
(esp. in the BVI - which is usually the case) and there was a lot of
heavy rain. I felt sorry for the Brits/Euros and Snowbirds visiting in
High Season in such weather. C'est la vie!

Strange after searching for weeks and about to use Golden Carribean I
checked Virgin Atlantic again to find that they have a sale on. The price
was about the same as Golden Caribbeans Sunday prices and allowed me to book
to Grenada and return from Tobago. Evidently people are now scared of
hurricanes at the wrong time of year.

There's almost always deals around either on the air portion or at
resorts. Who would have thought that places like Peter Island in the BVI
would be running special offers for May - usually a busy month. The
world is behaving very differently - and it's- not just the weather.
February is one of the peak months to the Caribbean - yet VS have
reduced prices! Yield management must be scratching their collective
heads!

Lot's of people have been put of by the reports of devastation on
Grenada. True there is still evidence of damage but quite a few
properties emerged unscathed except for garden/grounds being damaged.
With the fertility of Grenada's soil that is long since gone. Grenada is
more than ready to receive visitors.

Enjoy your trip - I hope the weather has improved over the last month.
It was pretty awful when I visited mid Jan. No hurricanes of course -
just wet.
