Euros in ABC islands?

Soon arriving to ABC islands from Europe.
I wonder if it is a good idea to exchange to dollars before we go or do they
have good rates for Euros over there?

2 weeks ago in Dutch St Marteen, shopkeepers were accepting euros at the
outrageous rate 1€ = 1$, so you're better off paying in NAF or $

Better off converting dollars into euros, at that rate.
