There are good and inexpensive flights to Jamaica, if you watch the
airlines for specials. It is about a three hour flight.
For more upscale, try Ocho Rios. For party, go to Negril. Try not to
stay at an all inclusive- your options are much too limited. I stay at
Firefly, which has all kinds of options for housing types. And not
expensive, especially for what you get.
Jamaica, especially around Negril, is not crime-infested and dangerous.
More laid back and easy going. Kingston is another thing. Stay away,
unless you have business there. Use normal street smarts, and if
bothered by a salesperson, a simple but firm NO is effective.
