Yes I've been to Bermuda - once in June and once in November. I
prefer November. It's too hot in June. Going again this coming
November. What kind of tips do you want?

Yes it is expensive, and yes in general it is one of the safer
islands. It is not crowded in November as that's the shoulder season.
There was a thing on the TV the other day - one of those eating on
$40/day programs in Bermuda. In order to stay under $40 she had to
have a sparse diet.
She had an orange coconut scone and coffee for breakfast at Aggies
Garden & Waterside Cafe. The old home is tucked in at the water's edge
by the new modern office building which fronts onto Pitt's Bay Rd.
Aggie's is only open for coffee and things like fresh scones for
breakfast and lunch (vegetarian specialties--no burgers & fries) M-S.
There are no tables inside and only benches and low tables outside in
the garden, on the grass at the harbour edge. Aggie's only opened for
business last fall.
Then she had fish chowder at Frescos for lunch, a "Dark and Stormy" in
the afternoon at the Swizzle Inn, and a chicken curry at the Hog Penny
for dinner.
Last time we were there (in November) we had breakfast and dinner
included in our hotel rate, and only had to eat lunch out.

Thank you for the tips on Bermuda, i am hoping to visit 2 nd week in
November.
Thinking of staying 5 nights at Grotto bay and then 5 nights at Surfside
beach club , both around 87 pounds UK daily plus tax, not including
meals, flight not included, do you think this is a good rate, bearing in
mind we want the sea front thank you regards Frank

Yes. Real breakfasts. The downside of staying there for me is not being on
a bus route. It is near the ferry to Hamilton, but that doesn't run all
that often. This didn't matter on my last trip. I hitched across the
causeway and rented a scooter at the other end. Then threw my bag in the
back basket and took off. On my return I did the reverse. But if I wanted
to bicycle instead, I wouldn't have it so easy. Loughlands, now gone, was
on a bus route and within walking distance of a bicycle rental place.

| | Guest | Bermuda I know Bermuda is not in the Caribbean, so forgive me if this is slightly
off topic, but I haven't been able to find any decent personal opinions on
Bermuda vacations so I thought I might ask here. We're thinking about going
in October and since it's been over 30 years when I was last on the island,
I'd like to ask what you all think of the overall vacation and then some
specifics--hotel recommendations, things to do, diving, etc. Thanks much.

| | Guest | Bermuda BERMUDA is SUPER....
I lived there for 2 years in the 60s.....a Lt at the USAF base (since
changed to Navy I believe) where you will land if you fly there......
been back many times since i left......
\one of the nicest islands anywhere.....
beautiful beaches, good restaurants etc etc....
Our favorite: Elbow Beach but there are others.....
DRAWBACKS: cannot rent car and it's a bit expensive.....MOTOR BIKES can be
very dangerous......
very few crime problems but must be careful as anywhere....one recent crime
a few years ago somewhat similar
to the current Aruba problem involved a transplant from JAMAICA......
just couldnt believe this Jamaican was being protected by the islanders but
that's how it goes.....
