Default Jamaica in late August/Early Sept?

I'm getting married on August 28th, and we're going to Montego Bay, Jamaica
for the Honeymoon. We leave on Aug 29th, and are coming back Sept 5th. Is
this a good time to go? I know it's hurricane season, but is Jamaica that
bothered by the storms that time of year? I'm asking now, because it's not
too late to change our travel plans to Hawaii.

I would not give it another thought. There is no reason to be more
concerned about weather than any other place anywhere. There are not even
that many hurricanes the whole season so one popping up at the exact time
you are there is very unlikely. Even if one did how long could it last? a
DAY tops? I can't even remember the name of the last one that LOOKED like it
was going to hit Jamaica when we were there, in 2000 I believe, but it
missed the island with not even a cloud or wind to indicate it was close. We
stayed at The Beachcomber Club in Negril and they did make some preparations
like moving the outside furniture into our living room but the next morning
it was moved back outside. That was the closest we ever got to bad weather
in the 23 years we have been going. Relax and enjoy your trip.
