Hey Roger,

Yes, this is a phenomenon that I dont understand. Some hotels are closing
down, while there seem to be a shortage of rooms in the island in general.
Coconut-court was full when we were there. And is so most of the time they
said.
Lots of cricket people were there, and you can imagine it was full party
when England won :)

We will try to work hard towards getting back for christmas, and the hotel
manager said we must book soon. Hotel is always overbooked at that time, and
that was a big problem he said. Because if all people come, there is very
very hard to find another hotel that has vacant rooms.

Did I mention that Richard Branson was on the same flight as we on the way
home? He sat 6 seats in front we.

Was this a Virgin flight or was he sussing out the opposition?
Surely he wasnt in 'economy'?
Did he get special attention?
(and are you sure it was him? Someone who works with me once visited some
business at Gatwick, and couldnt understand why he was being treated so
well, and getting 'looks' from everyone; turned out they thought he was
Richard Branson - he does look a bit like him)

I am SOOOO sorry .

Time went very very very fast, and that upsetted me quite a lot.
First week went to visit family and friends, the next week we had a little
more time, and before we got to blink
with our eyes, it was time to go the round to family again to say bye bye.
I am very sorry, and hope we are forgiven. There is a great chance that we
will be back in december, and I promise that we will stop by then. Promise!
We were supposed to be 14 days, and I was so upset that the time went too
fast, that we got it extended with 2 more days.
Hotel is booked 7th to 26th december. The only thing to do now is to save,
save save and save. And of course to get off from work. Lots of people want
to be off around christmas.

No problem.

Give me a call when your on the island and you can either come by us or
I can meet you in Worthing. It might be cool to meet in the gap. Have
you been to that Mexican place; Cafe Sol? Nice spot. I would much
rather drink tequila then rum these days! If you don't have my phone
number e-mail me and I'll send it over.

See ya soon;

Tequila is popular in Norway. This weekend, they had a drinking competition
in a bar. The winner died...

Default Barbados trip

We were talking about Rockley, and if it had financial problems or not...
Then I came over a mail I recived from Leif Brandel a while ago. I quote:

Club Rockley re-opens doors.

Leif Brandel the chairman and owner of the Amaryllis Beach Resort and
Allamanda Beach Hotel has just returned to the island from one of his
European marketing visits and immediately injected another breath of fresh
air into Barbados' tourism.

This time Brandel has announced that Amaryllis Beach Resort will reopen and
operate Club Rockley in the first instance on a lease arrangement for 90
days to accommodate the large influx of UK visitors coming to Barbados for
cricket.

Club Rockley was closed last year after running into financial difficulties
and its closure has caused great concern in the industry as another
significant block of rooms were taken out of the market.

This announcement by Swedish born Leif Brandel has brought new hope for all
concerned. The reinstatement of the 60 rooms at the Rockley Club takes
effect from 22 March 2004 when it will receive visitors on a room only basis
with the option of various meal plans.

All of the rooms and critical facilities at Club Rockley, including the
swimming pool, squash and tennis courts and reception area are in good shape
and will be made fully functional. The guests will be able to enjoy the bar
facilities 15 hours per day and snacks will also be served during the day.
Guests will however have the benefit of all the superb facilities at the
four-star Amaryllis Beach Resort and the three-star Allamanda Beach Hotel
like any other guest and there will be a regular shuttle service to and from
the properties. Of course the Amaryllis facilities now embrace the Chattel
Plaza with 39-Steps Restaurant and Pizzaz as well as a fitness centre,
virtual golf and amusement centre, beauty salon, barber salon and games
room. A total package designed to bring satisfaction to all tastes.

Yes, I like Rockley a lot. Used to be up there a lot some years ago.
Beautiful located groups of apartments, spread around the golf course.
Petals sister and her husband stayed there a couple years ago. I would not
mind staying there either.
But I think I have found my place for a good while now: Coconut Court. We
really loved it there.
