Default Travel to St. John's

I am trying to book a honeymoon to St. John's but am having trouble
arranging travel. Most travel sites try to book me to St. Thomas when
I enter St. John's and it is still quite expensive? Help? Also, if
you know of discount methods or travel agents for getting there that
would be extremely helpful. My fiance and I thank you!

Are you going to the USVI? If so it is St. John and NOT St. John'S.
(No S)

If you are going to St. John's then you are not going to the USVI but
some other place. There's a St John's in Canada, and a St. John's
River in Florida (Jacksonville) and another St. John's elsewhere in
the Caribbean (can't remember where for the moment), but there isn't
one in the USVI.

In any case, you can't book travel by air to St. John as there is no
airport there. You have to go to St. Thomas and take a ferry or
shuttle over to St. John.

Default Travel to St. John's

As noted, it is "ST JOHN" in the USVI, _NOT_ St John's (possive).
That said...

Exactly right.

Depending on where you are starting, you may end up in Puerto Rico
first, with a turbo prop hop to St Thomas.

Once at the St Thomas airport, you will take a taxi to the ferry --
probably in Red Hook. Ferries depart Red Hook for St John about
once an hour -- a bit more frequent sometimes. Ferries also run
from Charlotte Amalie, which is much closer to the airport, but they
are much less fequent. Once you arrive in Cruz Bay, St John, you
will need to take a taxi to wherever you are staying (unless you
rent a car).

The Westin and Caneel Bay hotels can also arrive transfers from
St Thomas directly to the hotels' docks. This saves you a bit of
hassel and the price isn't too bad. Worth considering, expecially
if you'll be carrying a lot of luggage.

Another possibility is to rent a car in St Thomas and take the
car ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay. Two things to consider if
you want to do this:
ONE -- Be very certain that the car rental company knows you
will be doing this. Not all car rental companies allow their
cars to be taken between the islands.
TWO -- Roads in St Thomas and St John range from very steep and
narrow to extremely steep and narrow; diriving is on the left;
and road signs are not up to the standard you'll find in the
48 states.
I would not recommend this if you are not of an "adventurous" bent
of mind. It may also be best to travel to St John at least once
before you try this.

the airport is in St. Thomas --- you take a ferry over to St. John from
there -- it is generally a pretty expensive destination for airfare

great place for a honeymoon though
