What carrier? If they are in Mexico it's likely they will not receive
Mexican CID, but they *may* get US CID (assuming that the carrier's
originally from the US or Canada.)

I've never seen CID work on any Mexican cell system, so it is my
impression that they just don't offer it. They're still answering the
phone to learn which telemarketer is calling.

I've never attempted to use text messaging in Mexico, nor anywhere else
for that matter. Text messaging doesn't interest me.

I don't see how that is possible. I seen their PCS system have caller id.
And since now they have GSM, they *should* have caller ID as well, at least
for the locals.

Thanks Brian, T-mobile is FIDO (Microcell's) roaming partner in the USA.
Fido does acknowledge they have coverage in Mexico but does not know if CID
works while roaming.

Text messaging works in mexico and is $0.40/message if I remember correctly.
If you have voice mail you might want to remove it before going to mexico as
any messages that go to VM will incur add'l roaming charges.
