No one actually stays in Castries. How much do you guys want to spent?
There are resorts, and there are guest houses.

The buses are frequent. I do not recall how long, as I never actually did
the run. Plus it was five years ago. I made the mistake of figuring I would
make stops along the way. So I got off at Marigot Bay. Why, because the
idiot taxi driver I had drove right on past without stopping or telling me
he was passing it. Then I had to go back into Castries to get a bus back
out again. On the second bus I only went to Anse La Raye.
The taxi driver did drive through Soufriere, but it was just a drive
through on the road that goes through. No side excursion down to the water.
So my attempted trip was to go back and see what I didn't see with him.

The night life is up in Rodney Bay.

There are. But I did not take a jungle tour. On St. Lucia you can only get
to the rain forest on a guided tour. They put you in the back of a jeep
like truck exposed to the elements and bounced around. If waterfalls is
your thing then Dominica or Basse Terre on Guadeloupe would be better.
I did see one waterfall on St. Lucia by taking the bicycle trip that was
discussed in my trip journal.

To me all of the Caribbean is safe. But them I'm a guy, and I do not worry
ever.
