St Lucia and Cars

I am visting St. Lucia soon and will have a rental car.
Friends have said it is not worth it and the roads are not the best.
I do need to visit both ends of the island. Any comments on driving
in St. Lucia?

Definitely get a car. You will wish you had. The roads are good enough. I
rented a Suzuki jeep-like vehicle, but that was just me. There is plenty
road that will make a car worthwhile.

Hi There,

I rented a car and drove from one end of the island to the other and thoroughly
enjoyed it. The roads are good in places and bad in others, but all I did was
take it easy (after all I was on vacation) and had no trouble at all.

I always rent a car if I can and think that it is the best way to explore any
island and get to see what loads of other tourists never see.

My suggestion is to rent your vehicle and enjoy the beautiful country.
