Hi Everyone,
I'm just letting you know, I live in Barbados and would be more than
happy to answer any questions anyone might have about my lovely
island. From queries of hotels to restaurants to beaches, anything you
need to know, i'd be glad to assist with honest answers.

For those who might be coming to Barbados soon, here is a weather
update for you. Presently it is raining heavily (for the whole day) it
seems to be continuing into the morning, usually when the rain falls,
it is quickly dried up by the hot earth.

Once again feel free to ask anything you need to know, just ask and
put my name in the post headline, so I would know it needs my
attention, I would be able to serve you better that way.

Bye from Beautiful Barbados.
Clifton

US currency is accepted almost everywhere in Barbados. Because the rate is
fixed there isn't much of an advantage to converting to local currency if
you are just visiting for a day. On the other hand if you will be there for
a while or will be taking local buses or visiting markets, etc it might be a
good idea to have some local currency.

Hi Michelle,
I forgot to respond about the fishing, they are fishing trip you can
go on with some boats (need to pay) or can go on some rocks etc.. and
catch some nice fish. Also you can catch fish from some shore lines
(they are not very big though).

If you need more help feel free to ask.

Michelle,

I don't have the local knowledge of Clifton, but I can highly recommend
the Dover Beach Hotel for the
type place you are looking. We stayed there in December of 2002. We
were met at the airport by a taxi driver
named Dennis who apparently works with the hotel. He probably made our
trip as enjoyable as anyone but he
definitely made us feel very welcome that night and started us off right
(so if you go with the Dover ask for Dennis).
This is a small hotel with a small on-site restaurant which we ate at
twice while we were there and the food was
very good.

The rooms were clean with air conditioning and television for those few
times we were in the room. We went on a
golf package which included 3 days of golf so we were out of the room a
lot! Dennis was our driver wherever we went
and he would take us on a different route to the golf course every time
and give us local history and private tours. The
first time he took us to the golf course we called him to pick us up
after we were finished. The second time he figured out
what time we'd be finished and he was there waiting for us to come off
the last green. I can't say enough good about Dennis!

Obviously I highly recommend the Dover Beach Hotel.

Hi Everyone,
The weather has held up nicely for the past three days, no rain and
lots of sun. Beach is nice and the water is lovely. For those coming
to the island in the near future, you should have some lovely weather.

Anyone feel free to ask anything about Barbados you want to know.

Clifton

Clifton,

Do you know if Earthworks ever offers a discount on their pottery?

Thanks.

When you pay with US dollars, you get Barbados dollars back. So it change
itself in a way.
But more or less any place will change money with you if you ask. The only
place I would not do it, is in the
reception at a hotel. They normally take a little to change.
