withing a walk, or short Taxi ride from

The only ferry I know about from Anguilla docks at Marigot, St Martin - not
Maarten.
Marigot is nowhere as much a Tourist Trap as Philipsburg, St Maarten.
I'd recommend wandering around Marigot - at least as far as the Marina
(surrounded by restaurants) and probably a little beyond that to the Museum.
There is a market right at the ferry dock with local folks selling clothing
and souvenirs. If you like "uphill", walk/climb up to the fort overlooking
the town.
There is a new upscale set of shops around an antrim next to the dock, but I
found it lifeless and disappointing. It's at the foot of the fort.
Farther afield, I would suggest going to Grand Case for a meal. There are
many very good restaurants in G.C.
Another 5 minutes gets the taxi to Orient Beach - but you have very good
beaches on Anguilla so that's probably a waste.

I'm assuming that you want to visit St.Maarten. From the port take a
taxi and ask the driver that you want a tour. If you are looking for
a beach Orient beach is a nice beach to visit.
From the port when you get off the ferry you may want to walk around
and visit the shops, this is on the St.Martin side. You will also
notice a remarkable difference with Anguilla. Worth the trip but.

This is a little tricky to answer, not knowing what it is you want to do
there. Shopping, casino, museum, beach?
BTW the Anguilla ferry is on the French side (St. Martin), not the Dutch
side (Sint Maarten). | |

If I were you I'd wait for the very next ferry and return to Anguilla.
Unless of course you like smoke blown in your face while you eat...This
island is so overrated..
