Default Dominican Republic-Famlies?

We are thinking about traveling to the Dominican Republic this June.
How is it for traveling with Families. We have a one year old and a
five year old. My wife and I enjoy outdoor sports, is it possible to
get day care? We were thinking about renting a beach house for a week
and then???? Thanks Jeff

There should be no end of ladies willing to look after your children for a
relatively small fee.
Finding someone and getting them access to your hotel MAY be a problem.

Personally, I would not travel to DR and stay in a resort. If you are using
condominium apartment style accommodation there should be no problem. Just
ask around the apartment staff for some help.

Which part of DR where you considering?

Hard for me to respond to all your questions...so try this...I travel
the caribbean frequently and when going to a new island, i first check
out the State Dept site.....gives you lots of info...and on a myriad of
items...such as crime, for instance.

Second...just type Domincan Republic into your search engine and pick a
site...most islands have their own websites that tell you scads about
their accomodations...STAY AWAY FROM THE TRAVEL SITES...they are a pain
the neck!

If you're interested in renting a villa....type in Caribbean
villas...you will get sites where you can then can choose your
destination, receive pics and detailed info about each villa...many of
which come with babysitting, maid, transp. , chef service.

Happy surfin'!

We are not sure what part we want to go to yet. We want to get a
couple of guide books and check around. We would like a week or 10
days at a beach doing nothing but hanging out and swmming with the
kids. Thinking of renting a small cabana or something. Then maybe to
the hills for hiking and a little rock climbing if I can make contacts
there. Thinking of renting a small cabana or something.
