Default Los Roques?

Anybody been to Los Roques lately?
I am thinking of heading down at the end of May.
What are the prices like these days?
Last time I was there ('96) it was $100 round trip from CCS and $8-$10 for a
room and a meal

thanks

The price for Los Roques is around $250 roundtrip from CCS with just
one over night stay. However, the pristine beaches and the solitude
make it worth going.

If that's far from your budget, you might want to try Morrocoy in
Falcon state where the cays are fabulous. I like Morrocoy more than I
like Los Roques.

My wife and I went there last year, it was 200$ per person for flight
and all day on catamarran, a meal, and snorkeling from Margarita. We
saw similar deals from Caracas. Rooms were very cheap. Marty, where
is Morrocoy, could you tell me more about it?

Morrocoy National Park is in Falcon state. The park actually consists
of a group of cays such Cayo Sombrero, Cayo Pelon, just south of Aruba
but closer to the Venezuelan shore. Here, you'll find some of the most
pristine beaches in the northern coast of South America. If you do go
you have to travel to either Tucacas or Chiciviche and hire a boat to
take you to the cays. It's really worth it.

Another fine place is Playa San Luis in Cumana in eastern Venezuela.
It's a nice stretch of beach several kilometres long that is pretty
much deserted during the week. Check it out.
