St. Kitts- The beach erosion at Frigate Bay?

We are planning a trip in Dec. 03 to St. Kitts and are extremely
excited about the adventure. We will likely be staying at the Timothy
Beach Hotel, which we've heard many good things about. My only concern
is the quality of the beaches in the area, expecially Frigate Bay and
South Friars Bay on the Carribian side. I've read in a few articles
that the beaches suffered drastic erosion during the last hurricaine.
Anyone been there recently? Any word on the subject would be
extremely appreciated..

I was looking for this information too. I'm going this weekend, Nov.
8-16 2003 and wanted to find out the status on the beach. I read the
same articles. I'll post again when I get back and give you my review
on Timothy Beach Resort.

True the beach was damaged by heavy surf from a nearby hurricane.
About 50' directly in front of Timothy Beach Resort was damaged. The
other 300 yards of the beach is fine. TBR built a lagoon directly in
front of the restaurant with stair into the sandy bottom. It made a
great snorkeling area around the reef.
