Default BAHAMASAIR: ever flown with?

Sounds like you're probably going to the Columbus Isle Club Med (or
possibly the
small diving resort next door). We've been to Columbus Isle 3 times
(4th visit coming up
later this month) but have never used BamahasAir. Quite a few of the
other GMs have
come via BahamasAir, and I don't think I heard any negative comments
about them.
The last time we were at Columbus Isle there was one couple scheduled to
leave on
Tuesday afternoon who were delayed and still awaiting their BahamasAir
flight on
Saturday when we left. That was a bit unusual, however, since that
Tuesday was
Sept 11, 2001. So I don't think we blame that delay on BahamasAir. The
Eurpoean
route to Nassau and then on to San Salvador via BahamasAir seems pretty
common,
I doubt that you'll have any problems. Have a great time!

Default BAHAMASAIR: ever flown with?

Hi Mike,

thanks for your answer.

Yes I'm going to CM but I'm thinking more and more about cancelling
the whole stuff.

I have heard terrible things about BahamasAir from a friend of mine
who has flown BA several times: they lose luggage, take off very late
so you miss your following

plane...(and you kiss your a... good bye because your ticket is lost
nobody's responsible).
They refuse one piece of your luggage because it is too heavy and take
it as freight 2 or 3 days later...
May be it is the exception that confirms the rule... Ones call it
BANANA AIR...
Customer Service is the worst thing I have ever dealt with. They never
answer Emails nor fax...

How do you go to SanSalvador if you don't fly BA?

Patrick

Club Med has arranged 'charter' flights with American Airlines. I
believe they run two
flights (ATR-72 normally) on Saturday and Sunday and perhaps one a day
some weekdays, These all come from Miami. If you were coming straight
from Europe, you could fly into Miami and catch the charter from there. But
if you're staying in Nassau a week first, that might not be so
convenient. I've talked
to a number of GMs who came from Nassau via BahamasAir and didn't hear
any horror stories.. but mine is certainly not a scientific sample. A
lot of
European GMs also come by way of Miami and the charter flight; I think most
of them stay a day or two in Miami on the way.
Good luck either way..
