Default Jamaica Cabins/Cottages

Looking to go to Jamaica, end of December to first of Jan. and would like to
hear from anyone with ideas about where to stay. Would like a cabin/cottage
on or near the beach, in a safe and secure area. We don't need anything too
fancy, as we just want to get away. Would like to prepare some of our own
meals etc. Prefer to fly to Montego Bay.

I could dig that a lot better than the alleged old transit time, although
when I finally do get to Negril (inevitable) I think I'd just as soon fly.
Are they still landing on grass north of town? I've never landed on grass;
it should be interesting.
