We just got back from two weeks in Antigua (End of July to early August)
and it was fabulous. I don't know where Blue Waters is but I suspect it
might be on the north west coast along with about a thousand other
hotels. We stayed at Galley Bay Cottages (not Galley Bay resort) and had
kitchen facilities for making breakfasts and quick lunches. We rented a
car and thus could go anywhere on the island for dinner. Lots to choose
from.

Low season in Antigua is probably the best season if you don't want to
be tripping over tourists at every turn. Plus you get to experience
carnival and it was fantastic this year. Loved every minute of it.

I'll be happy to post a list of restaurants that we tried if you like.
Just say the word.

I would love to hear more about the Carnival in Antigua. Ive been to Carnivals
in Jamaica, Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and am looking for another island
carnival to experience, they have all been different and unique and great fun.

Sorry to compound the situation - but Lucy's right. If you booked it
through a US Wholesaler - unless you are in a very special deal
situation - you should be able to change the resort. And there are
better value properties on ANU than Rex at more or less the same rate.
Suggest you try and change - it has seen better days. Suggest you gently
inform your agent/wholesaler etc. that yuo have had some negative
feedback and, while wishing to keep the business with them, you want to
change the resort. If you booked direct with Rex it depends on what
deposit has been charged against your cc and the conditions of refund.
Regardless - you will enjoy your visit to Antigua. Lovely island - great
beaches and v. friendly people.... sometimes a little shy but generally
delightful.

The tour operator was more than happy to change our hotel, at an
additional cost of
course. We will be staying at the Jolly
Beach , it has to be better.
