Ocean Park in San Juan

What is the Ocean Park area of San Juan, P.R., like. From some
postings and sites it sounds like a nice gated community. Other sites
warn that it's not safe after dark. I'm thinking of staying at
Hosteria Del Mar on the beach, but want to make sure the surrounding
area is OK. Can anyone tell me what's in the area besides the hotel.
Are there any restaurants or bars, or do you have to head over to the
Condado tourist area for that stuff?

Ocean Park is located between Isla Verde and Condado. It is strictly a
residential area with a few small hotels. It is not a gated community.
Area is safe but I wouldn't wander around in the dead of night - not
many people around. Most restaurants can be found on the main street
(McLeary?) a few blocks walk.
