Alabama Scenic River Trail
Alabama’s great new river trail is the longest water trail in any single state of the country. It starts at the Georgia state line and then winds its way across nine lakes. The Trail follows seven rivers and two creeks through a wide variety of types of paddling and scenery. After passing through the Delta, the route follows the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, ending at historic Ft. Morgan, near Gulf Shores.
This October Ardie Olson of Cumming, Georgia took on the trail in his 32 pound, 21 foot sea kayak. He completed the entire 631 miles, including 6 arduous portages in 12 days!

This description is woefully incomplete without the theme from
"Deliverance" playing in the background.
