Default Driving East to West

Hi all

Me and my boyfriend are thinking of going to canada in September for 4
weeks, we would ideally like to travel from east to west... is this
possible? Has anyone done this or does anyone have any ideas what we
HAVE to see when we are there?

It is possible, but then you wouldn't be able to see anything because
you'll sit in the car or train day and night.
That country is HUGE, so you should pick out one area at a time.

You should first decide which part you want to travel (two provinces
are more than enough for 4 weeks) and then ask again ;-)

Jochen has given you good advice; why spend half your holiday driving
between places you will be too tired to visit?

Suggestion #1: fly to Montreal and do a circuit of Quebec City - Eastern
Townships - New Brunswick - Nova Scotia - Prince Edward Island - Eastern
Townships - Montreal - Ottawa - Montreal.

The driving distances are shorter, history is all around you, and the
FOOD is wonderful!

Suggestion #2: fly to Vancouver and make circuits of British Columbia
and Alberta; add a few days in Yukon if you are interested in the
history of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898.

The driving distances are longer, but the scenery makes it worthwhile.

Hope this helps!

I've been travelling there about a dozen times since 1976 and
haven't even seen the Atlantic provinces yet ;-)

The trouble is: Many places are so beautiful you want to come
back again and again - and then there's friends and family to visit
too of course. But if you *live* in a country you won't see anything
anyway, unless you have visitors from abroad to show around.

Tell us/me what you are interested in doing. Are you a city person? or
just a couple of days. Are you a nature person? Do you like to keep
moving, maybe every second day. I could probably give you a good artineria
if you give me a couple details.

Feel free to email me if you like
