I went back to Vancouver from Jasper in June.
You have approximately 850 km or 10 hours driving, so it is too much
for one day and one driver (if you come back by KAMLOOPS, not Kelowna)
I drove approximately 700 km and stopped at Chilliwack (1h15mn before
vancouver) and found a cheap motel. (cheap means 59 CAD +taxes)
But do not forget : very heavy traffic in the morning on freeway 1,
driving time may be more than 1h15.
I hope I have helped ;-)
