the town before Banff is called Canmore. It is much more reasonably priced
to stay and just as, if not more beautiful than Banff. Stay at the Drake,
it is the best priced hotel for the area.
Lake Louise is pricey and there isn't much choice of places to stay. Not
sure about Jasper, so you might be paying lots. Personally I have pulled out
my sleeping bag and slept under the stars and by a fire in quite a few
campgrounds. Just make sure you put all food and garbage away before
bedtime.
Revelstoke is a skiing town, so the prices might be ok in the summer. (not
sure)
The good thing about BC is that you can go up deserted road and sleep there.
I have gone into campgrounds but found the nicest spots just off the main
roads.
vancouver is pricey to stay. There is a Sandman Hotel, much like a holiday
inn, but for 30 bucks more you can stay in the hotel Georgia, which is
fabulous. I would think you would want to call ahead for reservations.
Just to make sure.
Stop at the tourist information places along the way.
