Trip to Atlantic Canada

Hi Everyone,

I will be traveling from Montreal through all the maritimes between
the dates of July 9th 2006 to the 31st or maybe a bit beyond.


My tentative plans are to go from Montreal along the arm of Quebec,
down allong the western side of N.B around the coast of N.S into Cape
Breton, taking the Ferry to Nfld, touring through there, ferry back,
coast of N.S until Confederation Bridge into P.E.I, touring the island
and back over the bridge and then back to Montreal via the east coast
of N.B and Gaspe Coast.


I plan on staying in cheap motels every 4th night and camping the
rest of the time. I do know that I will be staying for 2 days in
Halifax, 2 days in Sydney and 2 days in Bouctouche with family and
friends.


What I am looking for in this group are a few different things:
1st. I am looking to make some friends from those areas I will be
covering in hopes that I can find places to pitch my tent along the
trip.


2nd. Some suggestions of things I should be seeing along my trip.


3rd. any tips and tricks about motorcycle traveling as this will be my
first major trip on my ride.


For those who are wondering I am riding a Honda CB450 1983. Not a big
bike but enough that I am comfortable and as we know, for those of us
who have motorcylces, it's all about the journey.

You should go on a diet before you leave home -- hospitality in Quebec
and the maritimes means FOOD! Lots of it -- especially in summer time.]

And in PEI, keep your eyes open for signs saying "Lobster Supper",
usually in church basements and community halls. You get a BIG dinner
of lobster, potato salad and fresh fruit pie, plus beer or iced tea, for
a very good price. Be careful -- in some towns it's compulsory! <g>

For such a trip you have too little time put aside. Just enjoying the
scenery and hospitality of Quebec would take that much time. As for the
maritimes abot 10 times longer
