On Vancouver Island, suggest:
* Victoria, Royal BC Museum, gardens
* Tofino and Ucluelet on the West Coast
* Cowichan Valley food & wine country
* BC Forest Museum in Duncan
* Whale watching at Telegraph Cove / Port McNeill
* consider a side trip to one or more of the Gulf Islands
* or returning via Comox ferry to Powell River and drive down Highway
101 to Langdale, ferry to Horseshoe Bay
On the Mainland, suggest:
* drive to Whistler, stay for 2-3 days, fabulous food
* NOTE: you can drive directly north from Horseshoe Bay to Whistler if
you do not need to return to downtown Vancouver
* drive north to Pemberton, Lillooet, Clinton (cowboy country!)
* return to Vancouver via Fraser Canyon (Highway 1)
* Vancouver Art Gallery has excellent shows this year
* Museum of Anthropology at UBC
* Storyeum in Gastown (historic district)
